Games

I've designed and written several games as a hobby.. most of them are available here.

I generally post my games under my Ass Hat Designs label. AHD isn't a company as such, just my "game label" of sorts. Kind of like I release most of my demos under the "Trauma" group label.

Split//Maze

Postmortem and downloads

I wrote this game for the 30th Ludum Dare 48h game design contest.

Typomagia!

Downloads and more info

Game in which everything happens using the keyboard. Type words to generate mana, cast spells by typing their names.

Partycle Popper

Postmortem and downloads

I wrote this game for the 10th Ludum Dare 48h game design contest. This is a post-contest 'fixed' version, but it's pretty close to what I came up with during the contest.

Boom Boom Driller!

Win32 version

Perform various mining operations using explosive drills along with some of the best indie music available today!

Featuring full songs from ANEMO, RiPPED, Jake Niemi and United By Sound!

My first text adventure

Download Z-Machine executable

My first text adventure

Play through parchment (iplayif.com, javascript)

I coded a text adventure with turbo pascal 3 on CP/M before getting a PC.. and I'm talking about a real text adventure with parser and stuff. It was very short and did not understand many commands (10 or so). I wanted to port it to PC, but the disks were destroyed long ago.. so I recoded it from my memory in Inform. You need a z-code intepreter such as Frotz, WinFrotz or Zip to play the game - you can find those from ftp.gmd.de (or, if you're in Finland, preferably its mirror on ftp.funet.fi) under if-archive and infocom intepreters.

Orbital Sniper

Postmortem and downloads

I wrote a game called 'Orbital Sniper' in the Ludum Dare 48 hour game programming contest - the first one I entered, that is. Here's also the post mortem analysis on the project as well as various ports by me.

Linux version (not by me) can be found by searching the web for "orbital eunuchs sniper", also possibly available through your favorite packet installation tool.

Tekram-S

Postmortem and downloads

I wrote a game called 'Tekram-S' in the 4th Ludum Dare 48 hour game programming contest. Here's also the post mortem analysis on the project.

..and the sky full of stars

Postmortem and downloads

I wrote a game called '..and the sky full of stars' in the 8th Ludum Dare 48 hour game programming contest. Here's also the post mortem analysis on the project.

Project 'Swarm'

I've spent some of my free time building a 2d space shooter game engine. I figured I might as well create a page for it, since it seems to be getting somewhere. That was a mistake - the project stalled soon after. =)

'Omena'

Win32 version

'Omena'

Mac os X version (g4)

A basic math learning program. It throws simple calculus at you (like 2+3) and you have to be fast enough with the correct answer to go on. Built as a school project.
